Mary Beth Ludwig, CPA
Mary Beth Ludwig is a highly skilled accountant with an astute business mind, a drive to build successful and unique projects, and a deep commitment to helping families in need. Ms. Ludwig has firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by parents of disabled children, being the mother of a severely handicapped son herself.
Ms. Ludwig has served in several capacities in the business world over the past twenty years. She is largely responsible for the strategic development and implementation of the business and management practices that have driven several local companies to grow into profitable thriving corporations. Ms. Ludwig trained in the tax and auditing departments at KPMG Peat Marwick in San Diego specializing in global multi consolidated corporations, high net worth individuals, and large nonprofit corporations. Upon relocating to Northern California, she continued her career in public accounting with a local firm, Zanier Rinehart Clarke, in Santa Rosa, California. In 1997, Ms. Ludwig became the Vice President of LaserVue Eye Center where she was responsible for all business operations including financial and human resources as well as practice expansion building laser vision correction and refractive surgery centers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Additionally, Ms. Ludwig had the pleasure of gaining experience in our local wine industry as the controller of Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards, an ultra premium winery in the Russian River Valley, Sonoma County.
In 2000, Ms. Ludwig was inspired to build a different kind of business project, one that would offer much needed support to her son and family while creating a solid business environment that would facilitate the delivery of special education services specially designed to meet needs of each child. Ms. Ludwig’s prior experiences with building unique business projects combined with her intense desire to work for the welfare of local families have benefited not only Anova, but our entire community. While initially volunteering hundreds of hours to the development of Anova’s own business models, Ms. Ludwig realized that she was performing a labor of love and needed to consider herself as officially moving fulltime into the business of directing and managing a local nonprofit. Anova has grown successfully over the past decade in large part due to Ms. Ludwig’s numerous connections in the community and her deserved reputation as a forward thinking leader and highly skilled accountant. However, Anova has probably grown in larger measure due to the enormity of Ms. Ludwig’s heart and the quality of the commitment that she shares with other parents and professionals on a daily basis. Ms. Ludwig continues to work extensively within our local accounting, legal, and banking communities as a professional, parent, and concerned community member.

Ms. Ludwig oversees the ongoing development and implementation the business strategies and practices that have allowed Anova to grow from an inspired dream to an agency that now serves hundreds of children and families throughout the Bay Area each year. Ms. Ludwig graduated from the University of San Diego in 1991 and began her professional career in the tax department with KPMG Pete Marwick in San Diego, California. She served on the Board of Directors of Becoming Independent. Mary Beth currently resides in Healdsburg with her two children, Kyle and Natalie.
