Betsy Mischke, M.A., OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Betsy Mischke graduated from the University of Southern California in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology. Upon graduating she worked with severely handicapped infants and then with adults and children with both physical disabilities and developmental delays. It was this work that led her to return to graduate school to earn a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from Samuel Merritt College in 1998.

Ms. Mischke has worked in diverse environments including public school districts, private pediatric clinics and pediatric rehabilitation both in the hospital and outpatient treatment clinic. She has worked extensively with children with neurological impairment, orthopedic impairment, sensory based feeding problems, fine and gross motor delays, visual motor and sensory motor dysfunction. Ms. Mischke is an expert clinician and skilled collaborator who enjoys working with other specialists as a member of a multidisciplinary team to create beneficial and meaningful treatment sessions for her students. She will be practicing her skills as the Occupational Therapist at the ACE School campus in Santa Rosa where she will practice and continue to refine the Anova Method of Education.

Kaitlyn LaBarthe, M.S., OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Kaitlyn LaBarthe joined the Anova Diagnostic and Therapy Clinic in 2010, after spending years working throughout the North and East Bay Area. Ms. LaBarthe worked as a nanny for a family for seven years and studied elementary education in college, which led her to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy working with children. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science, followed by a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy, both from Dominican University. Ms. LaBarthe’s varied internships include the Oakland Children’s Hospital, a psychiatric rotation at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, and a psychiatric rotation with adults and adolescents at Marin General Hospital. Ms. LaBarthe has also worked with hand therapy patients in Santa Rosa and at an orthopedic center in Walnut Creek.
Katie Roever, M.A., OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Occupational Therapist Katie Roever earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from California Lutheran University and a Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy from University of Southern California. She began working in special education as an undergraduate, gaining experience as a classroom assistant with students on the Autism spectrum. Since completing her education, Ms. Roever has worked in the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District and for the Contra Costa County Office of Education. She joined Anova in 2009 and is currently the Occupational Therapist for ACE Marin.
Lauren Cashel, M.A., OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Lauren Cashel joined Anova in 2011 as an Occupational Therapist after earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Connecticut College and her Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy from University of Southern California. She has experience working both at a pediatric sensory integration clinic, with people with traumatic brain injury, and providing OT services to students in public schools. Ms. Cashel has found that working with students at ACE Marin presents her with new challenges daily, which she greets with enthusiasm, creativity, and a healthy dose of play.
