The Honorable Willie L. Brown, Jr. Has Signed on as Honorary Chair for the 3rd Annual ACE of Hearts Pink and Red BallThe Former Mayor of San Francisco Lends His Support to Anova and ACE Schools
We are thrilled to announce that the Honorable Willie L. Brown, Jr., former Mayor of San Francisco, will serve as the Honorary Chair for the 3rd Annual ACE of Hearts Pink and Red Ball.
Held Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Friedman Event Center, the Pink and Red Ball will benefit ACE School’s Visual and Performing Arts Fund. Last year’s event raised $40,000 for arts programming at Anova’s three ACE School campuses in Sonoma, Marin, and Napa Counties.
One of the most influential political leaders in California history, Willie L. Brown, Jr. served as Mayor of San Francisco for two terms, and spent more than 30 years in the California State Assembly, 15 of those as its Speaker. A graduate of San Francisco State University and University of California, Hastings College of the Law, Mayor Brown became the first African-American mayor of San Francisco in 1994. He established The Willie L. Brown, Jr. Institute on Politics & Public Service at San Francisco State University to train students for careers in municipal, county, and regional governments.
“We are so grateful for Mayor Brown’s support,” said Andrew Bailey, Anova Founder. “His decades of tireless work for children and families throughout California have been an inspiration, one that we are happy to share with the next generation of leaders.”
As has become tradition, the evening will feature silent and live auctions, fantastic food, fabulous local wine and beer, and dancing the night away! Guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion, pulling out their best pink-and-red attire for the Valentine-themed party.
The money raised will be used for visual and performing arts programs for ACE students at Anova’s three campuses. For more information about sponsorship opportunities and other ways to get involved with this event, please contact Meghan Monahan at (707) 527-7032 or mmonahan@anovaeducation.org.
