Just added: We are honored to have Temple’s mother, Eustacia Cutler, skyping in from New York to speak after Temple’s keynote and join Temple and Anova’s Co-founder, Andrew Bailey, for an exciting Q&A session.  We are also pleased to add Regina Stoops, a popular Bay Area comedian and autism mom.

Dr. Temple Grandin: Dr. Grandin is one of the greatest autism advocates of our time. Diagnosed with autism at age 3, she has become a world-renowned speaker, author, inventor, and trailblazer for autism awareness. In 2010, she was named in Time’s 100 list of the most influential people in the world in the "Heroes" category and was the subject of the award-winning biographical film “Temple Grandin.”  She has dedicated her life to empower individuals with autism to reach their full potential and strives to create a better world for both the autism community and the welfare of animals.  Dr. Grandin was awarded her Ph.D in Animal Science from the University of Illinois in 1989 and has been a professor at Colorado State for more than 20 years.  She is also famous for using insights gained from her autism to revolutionize the livestock industry by designing an innovative livestock-handling system for over half of the facilities handling cattle in the U.S.

Eustacia Cutler: Temple Grandin’s mother, earned a B.A. from Harvard, was a band singer at the Pierre Hotel, New York City, performed and composed for NYC cabaret, and wrote school lessons for major TV networks.  Her research on autism created the text for two WGBH television documentaries, “The Disquieted” and “The Innocents,” a prize winning first.  Her 2006 book “A Thorn in my Pocket”, describes raising Temple in the “Leave-it-to-Beaver” world of the 50’s when children with autism were routinely diagnosed as infant schizophrenics and banished to institutions.  Eustacia lectures nationally and internationally on autism and its relation to the rapidly emerging bio-neurological study of brain plasticity, the toll it takes on the family, and how current research into the neural nature of consciousness is pointing toward insightful possibilities of change.

Frank Campagna: Frank is a Sesame Street producer who collaborated on the Sesame Street Autism Outreach Initiative. He shares his experience as a father of an autistic son in his popular blog, "Autism Daddy."

Jill Escher: Jill is the current president of Autism Society San Francisco Bay Area, providing a network for autism families to connect. She is also a mother of two children with autism, an autism philanthropist, and founder of the Escher Fund for Autism.

Feda Almaliti: Autism warrior mom and expert on CA autism health care laws. She fights everyday to end autism insurance discrimination and marginalization. She is a mother of 3 sons, her youngest has autism and she is the Director of Outreach for the Autism Health Insurance Project

Regina Stoops: As an Autism mom Regina, lives the life and knows how to have a sense a humor about the wonderful, stressful, crazy moments we experience as parents and caregivers.  Regina’s comedic ramblings take a look at an ordinary life and redefine what it is to be normal. More about Regina can be found at: and

Our sold-out 2nd Annual Rock n’ Roll Gala for Autism was a ‘smash hit’ for our kids due to support and participation from many dedicated community members. Anova raised over $75,000 and brought awareness to our urgent need for a school for our children. The theme for the evening’s festivities was “Don’t Stop Believin”, which we were honored to share with our treasured friends and neighbors. Check out the great slideshow below capturing moments from this fun and memorable evening.
