Andrew Bailey, M.A., MFT
Founder, CEO, and Director of Educational Services
Andrew Bailey is an experienced clinician and highly skilled educational consultant who has devoted the past twenty-five years of his life to working with children. Mr. Bailey earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 1985 and his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in 1991.

Mr. Bailey is one of the founding directors of Anova and is currently the Director of Educational Services and the Principal of the ACE School. Mr. Bailey originally designed the concept of "Multidisciplinary Treatment of Neurodevelopmental Impairments in a Private Educational Setting" that has been pioneered at the Anova Center for Education over the past eight years.

James Hampton, Ph.D.

Dr. James Hampton is a Professor of Biology at Buena Vista University and has more than 16 years of experience teaching Genetics, Cell Biology, and Molecular Biology. His research students investigate aging, gene expression, color vision and the evolution of adaptive behavior. He is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where he earned a Ph.D. in genetics and development. He was a fellow with the American Council on Education in 2002/2003, during which time he served as an assistant to the president of Harvey Mudd College. He has served on selection panels for the Council of Independent Colleges in Washington D.C., and as the Chair of the Finance Committee of the Iowa Academy of Science. In addition to his academic role, Dr. Hampton has served Buena Vista University as the Assistant Dean of Faculty, Special Gifts Officer, Strategic Planning Assistant and Chair of the Faculty Senate. In his spare time, he restores old homes with his wife, Patricia. Dr. Hampton welcomes the opportunity to work with students and educators at every level.
William Henkel, Ph.D., BCBA
Founder and Director of Behavior Analysis Services
William Henkel’s career has focused on the use of applied behavior analysis to develop creative strategies to reduce problem behaviors and teach adaptive skills. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1982 from San Jose State University and went on to complete his Master’s Degree in 1989 and his Ph.D in Developmental Psychology in 2006.

Dr. Henkel is one of the founding directors of Anova and is currently the Director of Behavior Analysis Services. He is also an experienced presenter, having provided hundreds of hours of in-service presentations and workshops on behavior management techniques.
Peter Hoberg, MBA
Anova Board Member
Mr. Hoberg is an engineer in Santa Rosa, California. He is the father of four children, one of whom is diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and is currently a student at the Anova Center for Education. Mr. Hoberg is the VP of Sales and Marketing for Solmetric, a small electronics manufacturer. Mr. Hoberg has more than twenty years of experience in business and engineering at Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies. He holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Master’s of Business Administration with focus on Environmental Entrepreneurship from the New College of California. He serves on the steering committee for the Sonoma County Business Environmental Alliance, an organization devoted to helping businesses realize the economic benefits of responsible environmental practices, and is on the board of the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa Sunrise, a community service organization.
Mary Beth Ludwig, CPA
Founder, COO, and Director of Financial Services
Mary Beth Ludwig, CPA, is one of the founding directors of Anova and serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Financial Services. Ms. Ludwig has firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by parents of disabled children, being the mother of a severely handicapped son herself. Ms. Ludwig graduated from the University of San Diego in 1991 and began her professional career in the tax department with KPMG Pete Marwick in San Diego, California. Upon relocating to Northern California, she continued her career in public accounting with a local firm, Zanier Rinehart Clarke, in Santa Rosa, California. In 1997, Ms. Ludwig became the Vice President of LaserVue Eye Center where she was responsible for all business operations including financial and human resources as well as practice expansion building laser vision correction and refractive surgery centers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.  Additionally, Ms. Ludwig had the pleasure of gaining experience in our local wine industry as the controller of Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards, an ultra premium winery in the Russian River Valley, Sonoma County. Ms. Ludwig served on the Board of Directors of Becoming Independent.  She currently resides in Healdsburg with her two children, Kyle and Natalie.
Jock McNeill
Anova Board Member

Jock McNeill has been involved in the real estate industry since 1999. Mr. McNeill attended the University of the Pacific School of Business and Public Administration and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker. Currently, he is responsible for the daily operations of the management group, leasing, and sales and marketing as co-owner of Alliance Property Management. Professional affiliations include the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM), California Apartment Association (CAA), and the North Coast Rental Housing Association (NCRHA). Mr. McNeill is the past President of the Marin/Sonoma chapter of NARPM and serves on the local Board of Directors for NCRHA. Mr. McNeill is also a member of Rotary International, Santa Rosa Downtown Club. Mr. McNeill lives in Santa Rosa with his wife Laura and daughter Molly.

David Mickaelian
Anova Board Member
David Mickaelian is currently the Assistant City Manager for the City of Healdsburg. He began his recreation career in the private sector, working for Holland America Line in Skagway, Alaska and later at St. Mary’s Lodge and Resort in Glacier Park, Montana. After leaving the private sector, Mr. Mickaelian worked for the Blaine County Recreation District (BCRD) in Hailey, Idaho. There he worked his way up to Program Director. Some of those responsibilities included implementing cultural arts programs, managing the aquatic facility, coordinating youth and adult programs, supervising special events and summer camps. Mr. Mickaelian left BCRD in 2001 to take a job as a Senior Parks and Recreation Supervisor with the City of Roseville. There he supervised a number of youth and adult programs, trained staff, and managed four aquatic facilities. Mr. Mickaelian was hired as Healdsburg’s Community Services Director in November of 2005. As the Community Services Director, he oversaw a number of divisions including, Parks and Recreation, Healdsburg Municipal Airport, Senior Center, Recreation Facilities, and Healdsburg Transit operations. In February of 2010 Mr. Mickaelian was promoted to Assistant City Manager. In addition to Community Services, he oversees the City’s Redevelopment Agency, Development Projects, and works closely with the City’s Department Heads to ensure the City’s goals and objectives are met. Mr. Mickaelian is a graduate of California State University, Chico.  When away from work, some of the activities he enjoys include fly fishing, hiking, and spending time with his family. Mr. Mickaelian lives in Healdsburg with his wife Michelle, and children Taylor and Ryan.
