Teresa has worked as the Speech Language Pathologist in a multitude of educational settings from Kindergarten through Transition programs, age 22. She has enjoyed helping a very diverse population of students with multiple and unique sets of strengths and challenges. She has been formally trained in PECS and holds her AAC certification. Additionally, she holds an administrative credential and has served as Director of Special Education and SELPA Program Manager in Nevada County. Realizing her true passion is serving students, with a special interest in children who have Autism, Teresa moved to Santa Rosa in 2017 in order to work at Anova. She has incorporated her love for theatre and technology with a green screen studio in her speech room so that she can offer all kinds of engaging language activities from kindness commercials to public service announcements. Recently, she has discovered a keen interest in multiple diagnoses influence on fluency and effective treatment strategies. Teresa is conducting a novel fluency study examining language therapy effect on reducing non stuttering like dysfluencies. Always loving to learn, Teresa finds that Anova offers both a continual place to learn and grow in her abilities as well as feel the sweet joy of helping and connecting with our students.
